Congratulations to Englewood High School SmartLab Students Davida Martinez and Josh Yohe!
Davida and Josh won first place in the School Photovoltaic Design Project Competition held at the 40th Annual IEEE Photovioltaic Specialists Conference. Their winning design was a solar-powered cooler that keeps food cool without ice - an innovative solution that's perfect for camping, hunting, boating, hiking and fishing. Great work Davida and Josh!
Without question, our most impactful partnerships are with school organizations that share a common vision - from the elected leadership, to the district and school administration, to the teaching staff.
So it was very satisfying to watch footage from a recent School Board meeting of Lake Forest Schools - D67 in Lake Forest, Illinois. In this video, the Education Committee reports on their visit to nearby SmartLab at Northwood Junior High in North Shore School District 112.
This is clearly a school board that understands the value of next-generation STEM education and is committed to providing their students with the best learning opportunities possible. SmartLabs represent significant investments, and it speaks volumes whenever school board members take time out of their busy schedules to observe SmartLabs firsthand.
We are thrilled about the opportunity to partner with a school organization that is so committed to providing progressive STEM education for their students.
